Sourav Ganguly Returns to Delhi Capitals as Head Coach

Delhi Capitals have announced the appointment of former India captain Sourav Ganguly as their new head coach, marking his return to the franchise after a gap of several years. CricketBuzz understands that the move brings a familiar and respected figure back into the Delhi camp ahead of the upcoming season.

Ganguly's association with Delhi Capitals dates back to 2019, when he first joined the franchise in an advisory capacity. During that stint, his cricketing acumen played a key role in shaping the team's strategic direction at a time when the franchise was looking to rebuild and establish a stronger identity in the Indian Premier League.

A New Chapter at Delhi Capitals

Stepping into the head coach's role now, Ganguly will be responsible for translating his tactical experience into tangible on-field results, guiding player development, and shaping match-day strategies. Known for his fearless captaincy during his playing days and his sharp administrative instincts as a former BCCI president, Ganguly brings a rare mix of leadership qualities that the Delhi Capitals management hopes will energise the squad.

As CricketBuzz reported, franchise officials believe Ganguly's return will inspire confidence among both senior players and emerging talents, many of whom are expected to benefit from his mentorship and cricketing wisdom. The appointment also reflects Delhi Capitals' broader intent to build a settled and experienced support staff as they continue their pursuit of a maiden IPL title.
